Ken Paxton: The Most Corrupt Politician in Texas

For years, Ken Paxton has used the power of his office to protect his friends, his donors, and himself. Texans have paid the price.

A sweetheart deal for a child predator

Adam Hoffman admitted to sexually abusing a child and faced life in prison. Instead, Ken Paxton offered him one day in jail, with no requirement to register as a sex offender. Hoffman’s lawyer represented one of Paxton’s biggest donors. Paxton gave a well-connected child predator a sweetheart deal, and put Texas kids at risk.

Paxton got rich in office

Since Paxton took office, his net worth has reportedly risen by up to 7,000 percent, reaching as much as $27 million. He now owns 15 properties, including one in Hawaii.

Paxton’s own staff reported him to the FBI

Paxton's own senior staff reported him to the FBI for bribery, accusing him of using his office to benefit a wealthy donor. Paxton fired them. When they sued, he asked Texas taxpayers to cover their $3.3 million settlement.

Paxton’s own party impeached him for corruption

Then members of his own party impeached him on charges that included allegations of obstruction of justice, conspiracy, disregard of official duty, and bribery.

Texans paid the price

While Paxton grew wealthier, Texans paid the price. He blocked overtime pay for Texas workers, led a lawsuit to overturn the Affordable Care Act, and fought to let insurance companies deny coverage. He supported a bill that could double health insurance premiums, leave 1.4 million Texans without health care, and cut more than $400 million from rural Texas hospitals.

Texas can’t afford Ken Paxton’s corruption.
